MERELY kind words to describe this wonderful couple do not suffice for us to honor them. They are the angels that God has sent to open the door of opportunities for us to make our dreams come true!
Married for 55 years, Mr. and Mrs. Ferril Curtis and Martha Elder became part of our life four years ago when my wife Honey took the job as Mrs. Elder’s caregiver from another senior care agency.
When Martha got better few months after, the couple terminated their contract with the agency, yet we remained part of their family. We regularly visit the couple with our children and would have them as guests when we have our own special gatherings at home. Sometimes, she would come with us to go to church too.
Mr. Elder, 84 years old is an army veteran and a former Honeywell employee while Mrs. Elder was a stay-home mom who devoted her time taking care of their two children Gray and Lisa. She was also painting in her leisure time.
Although, Mrs. Elder has gone home to heaven on January 20, 2012 she will remain in our heart and mind forever. She doesn’t have to worry about Mr. Elder as we will take care and love him which he deserves.
